These Terms govern your use of DataLock, provided by DataLock. By using DataLock you agree to them.
You must be 18+ and may only scan information that belongs to you or that you're authorized to check. Don't use DataLock to surveil or harm others, or to disrupt or abuse the service.
A privacy and monitoring tool, not a credit bureau, law firm, insurer, or guarantee against identity theft. Results are for your awareness and may be incomplete.
Paid plans (Plus and Premium, monthly or yearly) are auto-renewing subscriptions with a 7-day free trial. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe; in the iOS app, by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the period ends. Cancel anytime in your account (web) or Apple ID settings (iOS).
Premium includes Active Removal Deployment. When you activate it, you appoint DataLock as your authorized agent under the California Consumer Privacy Act/CPRA and equivalent U.S. state privacy laws, and you authorize us to submit, on your behalf, requests to data brokers, people-search sites, and similar businesses to (a) opt you out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and (b) delete the personal information they hold about you.
You confirm that the information you provide is your own (or that you are otherwise legally authorized to submit these requests), and you grant us permission to share that information with those recipients only as needed to make and follow up on the requests. You may withdraw this authorization at any time from your account or by contacting us; withdrawal stops future requests but does not reverse requests already sent.
Active Removal Deployment is a best-effort service, not a guarantee. We send and track requests, but whether, when, and how a recipient responds is controlled by that recipient and by applicable law. DataLock does not promise that any specific information will be removed, that all brokers will be reached, or that removed information will not reappear. DataLock is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
The service is provided "as is," without warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the prior 12 months.
